Introduction

eplan-mcp lets an AI agent work inside a running EPLAN Electric P8: open projects, run actions and scripts, read and edit the live DataModel, export PDFs and reports, all without a dialog box getting in the way. It speaks the Model Context Protocol, so it works with Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and any other MCP client.

Around it sits a small suite of tools that make the agent good at EPLAN, not just connected to it.

eplan-mcp

The local MCP server. ~200 tools, plus a catalog of ~1,050 GUI-only actions. Runs on the machine where EPLAN is installed.

Scripting skill

Teaches the agent to write correct EPLAN C# scripts, API code and Remote Client apps, including the traps that only show up in production.
